Theophilus London - I Want You Mixtape

So here's TL's official mixtape that was dropped earlier today. I haven't listened to all yet but from what I've heard this project is nasty. TL gives you that funky groove feel that hip-hop has never incorporated before, I DIG! He also decided to include the infamous "Starry Eyed Penguin Prison remix"....this shit is FUEGO so beware of the burn my brotha!
Personal favorites thus far: "No Answers" "Hey Wonderful" "Give it up Dad"
Other songs like "Oops" "Life a Lover" , etc. have been previously posted if you want to check those out separately.

Just download the whole mixtape "I Want You" HERE

B.o.B - new music video, cut album tracks - whatcha want?

Here's B.o.B's official music video for his latest single "Bet I Bust" featuring T.I. & Playboy Tre, one his homeboys from the start. Playboy Tre's voice is just hilarious, there's something about it that just makes me laugh, hes sort of a big dude with a high pitched voice and didn't expect that when I saw him live performing with B.o.B a few years back. Anyway, Bobby's Rays album "B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray" was officially released yesterday and it is what you call "fuego". Make sure you get on that purchase, you can get the deluxe edition via iTunes.
Some personal favorites are "The Kids" with Janelle Monaé and "Pass My Shades" with Lupe Fiasco, Lupe has a ridiculous verse that might jump out at you if you liked X-Men growing up.."Now I'm back lookin for the shade I saw, not wonders, I'm Scott Summers so don't make me take off my stunners"..
Also included are some tracks that apparently didn't make the final cut for unknown reasons. Satellite has been featured on his B.o.B vs Bobby Ray mixtape but heres the CDQ and oh does it sound good. Another track that was actually my favorite from the leak album is "Higher" but I guess it didn't make the final cut either on iTunes/Amazon. If you like Cyber Heaven and Bet I this will probably be your favorite song, he goes off in this song with a legit hook, still boggles my mind that this track didn't make the cut. Lastly, "Not Lost" feat. T.I. was snubbed, its a more inspiring song left toward the end of an album as a closer but its still alright.

B.o.B - Satellite
B.o.B - Higher
B.o.B ft. T.I. - Not Lost
B.o.B - Can I Fly
another good track with my boy Charles Hamilton "Paperboy"

PS - incase you don't have his latest single "Bet I" here it is.
Playboy Tre you's an all-star they don't know about you!

because?
das wassup.

Theophilus London = fuego

Life Of a Lover from Theophilus London on Vimeo.

So Theo just keeps droppin' tracks on his twitter from his upcoming mixtape "I Want You" which is set for release april 28th (wednesday). It will be interesting to say the least just because nobody really knows what kind of damage this guy is capable of doing. We obviously know he's not an intense spitta by any means but rather on the soul and electronic side with flares of hip-hop. I have made comparisons to Kid Cudi previously, based on his NY hipster style with his electro/hip-hop fusions but I take that back. He is his own man and his latest tracks from "I Want You" will show you that. Not too mention "Humdrum Town" is straight fuego and arguably one of the best tracks of 2010 (with his Starry Eyed remix being up there as well).

heres a couple tracks, there okay but just come to show you his ideas

A little taste of sweet Bobby Rays

Only a few more days left until B.o.B's "The Adventures of Bobby Ray" hits stores and the internet. I've listened to most of it and this is definitely an album seller, with no musical boundaries with the likes of Eminem, Janelle Monae, and even Paramore's Hayley Williams. Bobby Ray sticks with his Southern roots with at least one song "Bet I Bust" featuring T.I. & Playboy Tre and is reminiscent of where he started from if you've ever listened to his stuff prior to blowing up. Bobby Ray samples Vampire Weekend's "The Kids Don't Stand a Chance" with Janelle Monae featuring to make for one of the strongest tracks on the album. Most importantly Lupe Fiasco is featured on a track "Past My Shades" and its definitely a B.o.B themed beat but goes to show you how versatile Lupe is. If you like what you hear please be a supporter and go out and buy his album.

PLAYLIST: TEPRs ruthless remixing

While browsing through the iTunes library I managed to brew up a real nasty playlist dedicated to those remixes that we all love so much. You're at a party or a pregame and one of your friends only likes dance and electronic and your other friend only likes hip-hop and pop, so whats your solution? Easy answer: REMIXES will get the divas to stop bitching!

While discussing remixes lets focus on a DJ who goes by the name of TEPR. "TEPR" or Tanguy Destable comes from Morlaix in North West France. He currently plays keyboard for French popstar Yelle and has made himself more well known for his unbelievable remixing. His jams can get you into a deep electronic groove making you feel like a revived super nintendo without having to blow the insides (yes its that fresh) . Along with TEPR's remixes I added some other hot remixes worth downloading. Most are fairly recent if your worried about getting new music but either way you can't deny the damage thats about to be done to your ear drums!

download the .zip file HERE

Tracks (17)

Rihanna - Rude Boy (Pluto & Kri5 Remix)
Kid Sister - Pro Nails (TEPR remix)
Black Kids ft. Lil Wayne - Not Gonna Teach Him (The Twelves Remix)
Chester French - She Loves Everybody (RAC mix)

Call me Tiger Woods I'll be back for my Masters

Oh you know you know I got you with that new music
I'm really feeling the new "Pretty Girls" remix feat. Chris Brown and Fabolous. I was actually wondering when the song would be legitimately remixed. Wale has some new witty verses like usual, Chris Brown adds his own twist, and Loso keeps the cool with his last few verses.

Wale - Pretty Girls (Remix) ft. Chris Brown & Fabolous

Also here's a new B.o.B joint called "Airplane" feat. Hayley Williams (from Paramore). I guess its okay, a bit corny and poppy thats too radio friendly for me personally but I respect what Bobby Ray is trying to do with his music. B.o.B can really blend with anything because hes muscically gifted, not just lyrically gifted.

B.o.B feat. Hayley Williams - Airplanes

Heres Big Sean's "Bullshittin", its pretty good. He reeeeally needs to get on that release of his debut album "Finally Famous"

Big Sean - Bullshittin'

Charles Hamilton is back after an underachieving with his last label, where he was dropped from. I really dig these sonic the hedgehog samples, he pulls it off well. I heard hes dropping new tracks in anticipation of the release of his first single of his upcoming album. I like what I'm hearing and have always been a legit Charles Hamilton supporter, Brooklyn Girls was a straight banga. I'll include some of his good stuff.

Charles Hamilton - I Hate Parties
Charles Hamilton - Sega Music
Charles Hamilton & B.o.B - Paperboy

older good songs
Charles Hamilton - Brooklyn Girls
Charles Hamilton - Conversations With God
Charles Hamilton - Starchasers
Charles Hamilton - Emotional Distress
Charles Hamilton - November 10th

new Theophilus London

Theophilus just dropped some more fire through his Twitter page and its interesting to say the least. I think the dude is stuck in the 80s or something haha but this music video for "Accept the New" is hilarious. In the tight song "Oops" Theophilus covers Tweet's original song and is pretty creative with his own verses. I don't know exactly what album or mixtape all this recently released stuff is going to be on but keep it comin' Theo!

Here is Wiz Khalifa's fresh mixtape "Kush & Orange Juice" that was released wednesday. Recently Wiz Khalifa has been a hit or miss with his debut album "Deal or No Deal" flopping hard with generic beats and sub-par lyrical content. He did manage to deliver hard with "This Plane" off his re-debut album and mixtape Burn After Rolling's "B.A.R." and "The Thrill", an Empire of the Sun sample with some catchy hooks. Anyway the mixtape is for those who just enjoy the hip-hop and creativity in mixtapes. The commentary is pretty funny with Wiz taking phone calls from people, make sure listen to skit 2 and listen to "crazy cool" from michigan if you want a good laugh. The tracks Mezmorized, the Statement, and The Kid Frankie are tracks where WIz is at his finest. The Statement has this hazy old school hiphop beat (NWA'esque) thats worth a listenin'. As the mixtape title implies, a majority of the mixtape is about him smokin, like in "Still Blazin" . I guess you could say that Wiz and Curren$y are today's cheech n chong
rivaling Snoop Dogg and Cudi's "That Tree" music video

the sickest Rudeboy remix out there

if you haven't heard of 88 Keys hes actually more of a producer than a rapper (like Kanye used to be) but he definitely gives this Tegan & Sara song the fix.

Chiddy Bang mini-mixtape "AIR SWELL"

Chiddy Bang just released their mini mixtape, which I think is a good sign that they will release an album hopefully this summer. Two of the songs I've already posted earlier, "Under the Sheets" & "Stylo". Chidera definitely knows how to deliver on each verse to leave a lasting impression in your head. Others might see this as him being too poppy or even corny but their just pissed that their wordplay sucks. His rhymes and lyrics are definitely intended for our era of college kids and Xamphoon's DJ IQ is off the charts, his taste in music is what really makes their songs so good, who would try sampling passion pit or ellie goulding (or even gorillaz new sound) into a hiphop beat that is just straight fire? All I'm saying is watch the fuck out for these guys, regardless if they sell out or not, they are talented.

Get your study on

So finals are coming up and you need something to rage to. Study music may vary for everyone but I definitely dig that downtempo feel, with a bit of acid jazz blended with some electronic music. So pretty much that means THIEVERY CORPORATION and SOUNDTRIBE SECTOR 9 (STS9) are the dudes to jam to when your zoned in the library late at night. Thievery Corporation are pretty much the founders of the chilled music genre "downtempo". The DJ duo from D.C. get their music from all over the globe, hence "thieves". Some of my favorites by them are when they get into the Hindi music of India or Spanish music (like the merenge & tango) with that lounge feel. STS9 can be defined best as acid jazz jam band who keep their songs very interesting to say the least. It's almost like a melodic story inside your head (this could just be for me)
A couple other notable artists on the study mix- Zero 7 (another downtempo band with a chick singer who has a blazin' hot voice), Gorillaz, tango-based Gotan Project with probably one of the best remixes I've ever heard, Prefuse 73, and Ratatat (electronic). The zip file is actually quite long, about r 2 hours 32 minutes with 31 songs. Be very excited if your looking for something new to zone to while studying. chillll out.

Heres whats on the mix a couple download links provided if you want to sample before downloading (lame, just download the whole thing):

New B.o.B! New Big Boi!

New joint off of Bobby Ray’s upcoming *The Adventures of Bobby Ray* LP called “Don’t Let Me Fall”. Not too many rappers are musical but Bobby is definitely one of the most musical rappers/hip-hop artists around! The LP drops April 27th. This was produced by Bobby himself & is also available for you to purchase via iTunes. Support your artists that help you get through the day.
Don't let this song fool you it may sound a bit poppy at first but then he takes off!

Here’s the new from Big Boi’s upcoming "Sir Luscious Left Foot." This album is shaping up to be a monster. “Shutterbugg” starts off very strong – and then proceeds to get wilder with each passing minute, just a killer fast hip-hop/dance beat. If your a real fan of the original southern rap, I'm talkin' vintage Outkast like from "Aquemini". These guys really paved the way for todays artists as they strayed away from the typical gangsta rap with their G-Funk and electronic blends; especially andre 3000, whom B.o.B really bases his style from. Since I'm on the topic of the greatest hip-hop duo of all time, I'll put up a few of my favorites. I assume most of you have their big hits so give these classics a go. Nigerian Lil Wayne

Here is Lil’ Wayne’s “A Milli” video, with one small twist – features not Lil Wayne, but a Nigerian version of Lil Wayne named 2Sure 2Shizzy Amemu, and he’s drunk. It’s actually really cool, everything about it has a Nigerian take on it. I bet you he smokes more weed than lil wayne too. hahaha

Swichin' it up..dance, house, electro - ya dig?

Progressive artist Wippenberg (from Germany) gets his song “Pong” mashed with super hit “Speed Up” from electro artist Funkerman. This track has been receiving major air time in all house clubs and will be for a while.
Even if your not into the house/electronic scene give this one a listen, props to Paul for recommendation.
Wippenberg vs. Funkerman - Pong Speed Up (Jose De Mara Bootleg)

Another nasty house song that you can't pass up. The original was produced by David Guetta and the Dutch DJ Laidback Luke was quick to remix it and play it at all his latest sets. The song is straight fire. This Laidback Luke definitely has it goin for him
Wynter Gordon - Dirty Talk (Laidback Luke Remix)

still want more? thought so. UK producer Russ Chimes new remix gives us a nice taste of mellow house. About 3:48 in it really picks up with some sick sounds

To tell you the truth I can't really stand Young Money (except for Drake), as I heard my brother say the other day "their hot garbage, you light it on fire and it smells like shit" hahaha
So with that being said, listen to a couple remixes of "Bedrock". Both are good, equally dangerous.
